Wills Snubs Expensive Ferry Crossing For Chinook

Tuesday, 15th April, 2008 at 12:40 pm, Isle of Wight

Wills Snubs Expensive Ferry Crossing For ChinookIt’s often mooted that mile for mile, the Solent is the most expensive stretch of water to cross in Europe and after hearing about some of the fares being charged by Wight Link last weekend (dramatically increased from the weekend before £110) it’s quite believable.

News of the royal princes partying on the Island has been widespread across the National and International press. We have to admit that it’s not a story we were particularly interested in, but had a laugh today when we saw the method of transport that young William had opted for, over the ferry.

Wills and Harry needed to get here fast (before that Red Bull lost it’s fizz), and as William had just picked up his RAF Wings, what better way to travel than by £10 million Chinook?

Certainly beats having to share a ferry with the great unwashed and having seen the state of the toilets on a Wightlink ferry on Sunday, can’t blame ‘em.
