WightLink: No Cheques From TomorrowAs of 1st May (Thursday) cheques will no longer be accepted in Wightlink Shops on onboard.

For those of you who weren’t aware of the change, the statement released by WightLink at the beginning of March states …

Please be aware that Wightlink will no longer be accepting cheques as payment for tickets or goods in any of our terminals, retail outlets or onboard our vessels from 1 May 2008.

We believe that customers will benefit from this change as it will result in improved efficiency and increased security for both customers and the company.

Wightlink would like to apologise to passengers for any inconvenience that this may cause.

    Not quite clear what the benefit of reducing the number of ways that you can give money to Wightlink is - either for the company or each of us. It’s just plain daft.
