What the Hell is WhatWat?

Saturday, 1st April, 2006 at 12:01 am, Isle of Wight

I came across this story last week when I was looking for some info on the Isle of Wight. Been meaning to stick it up all week! It refers to our county namesake in Virginia, USA.

Bonkers or what?

Green County Chronicle, March 25th 2006
What the Hell is WhatWat? By Candy Neuman

whatwat

Its purpose is to provide a 30 minute buffer on real life. Put simply, this means any individual owning and licensing a copy of WhatWat? can skip back, pause, rewind or replay anything that happens within the previous 30 minutes of their lives. Full details of how WhatWat? works will be announced at the official launch.

Professor Pours, who headed the project, explained that a closed community in Isle of Wight County, VA took part in a 2 year trial with amazing results. Initially, their behaviour changed in that they became guarded about whatever they did or said. However, within 6 months crime rates dropped tot zero, divorce rates levelled out and bullying in schools disappeared – a direct result of the community taking responsibility for their actions. According to an inside source, what remains there now is a harmonious, generous and understanding community.

But you will have to wait several years before the first release, which is scheduled for 1st January 2010.

Community, Unexpected
