Ventnor Skate Park: 2007 Works Documented on Film
Monday, 23rd June, 2008 at 1:38 pm, Isle of Wight
Anyone who has been past the Ventnor Skate Park in the last week or so, will have seen the new fencing put up by Mountjoy. The idea is that this’ll keep the public out of the park and therefore safe, whilst the work takes place on the ramps and surrounding area.
We’re on the lookout for volunteers over the next week or so to dig out some drainage before we get free use of a digger over next weekend. If you can help out in any way, do get in touch as this can only take place if people get involved.
There has been much focus on the efforts that have taken place since the threat of the skate park being demolished by the council.
However, many of you might not know about or perhaps remember the work that took place last year when funding was received to renovate the skate park and carry out training for youngsters.
Chair of the Ventnor Skate Group and filmmaker, John Cattle, documented these efforts and it’s a great film, well worth watching.
Just goes to show how much has taken place already and how important it is for the work to continue now the Skate group have the lease for 20 years.
