Ventnor Permaculture Group: Vegetables to Sow in July
Wednesday, 2nd July, 2008 at 10:37 am, Isle of Wight
Angie’s excellent permaculture blog is always worth checking out on a regular basis.
Yesterday she posted an article reminding us all that it is possible to still sow seeds for many vegetables, including lots of salads which always come in handy over the summer.
With rocketing food prices, growing your own is a great idea (and one we’ve embraced after reading Angie’s blog). Even if you don’t have a big garden (like most Ventnor gardens) so much can actually been grown in pots.

I am glad you have been inspired to have a go at growing a few veggies, be warned it is very addictive, once you taste them you will want more! It is not my personal blog (believe it or not) it is the Ventnor Permaculture blog, we originally started it to make people aware that permaculture is thriving on the Island and to publicise the Isle of Wight Permaculture Group and Ventnor Permaculture monthly meetings. Anyone is welcome to come along to either, it is free and friendly. I have marginally more time than the others right now and have more blogging experience which is why most of the posts are coming from me at the moment. Most of the other Ventnor Permaculture members are working and tending various sized gardens and pieces of land. Wendy has added a couple of posts but has lots of interesting things on her own page. Ken has promised us some permaculture articles later in the year but is busy tending his garden and two plots of land. So hopefully before long there will be much more input from the others.
