Vegan Supper at the Community Projects Association

Saturday, 1st October, 2005 at 11:00 pm, Isle of Wight

We had a cracking meal on Saturday night at the Ventnor Community Projects Association in Albert Street. The Association, which is a ‘not for profit’ organisation was set up 26 local founding members and run for the benefit and well being of the community.

We received a very warm welcome by all and enjoyed a superb 3 course meal in a comfortable, cosy and inviting environment and met some lovely people.

The objective of the Association is to generate a strong sense of community in Ventnor through the development and promotion of facilities and activities for the people of Ventnor.

As part of this objective, the Association works with the Arts Unit to provide Neighbourhood Learning in Ventnor, it’s run by locals to bring a series of arts based courses for adults to Ventnor. The courses, which are always popular (so sign up early next time round if you’ve missed the boat this time) cover a wide variety of disciplines from textile workshops to creative movement to short story writing. Something for everyone.

Anyone wanting more info regarding the Association can contact Alison Knapman through this site or visit 1 Albert Street. Help support the Association by visiting on Saturday mornings for ‘papers and pancakes’ . A friendly welcome is always assured.

We hope at VentnorBlog to be able to help support the Association and will be shortly posting details of all courses being run this term.

Of all the meals I have been to over the past few years at VCP this was the best. I think Sam who conceived the idea did a great job!!

It might be nice to do this each month, no need for anything special, jut a chance to meet like minded people in a very warm and friendly atmosphere.

[…] This coming Saturday sees a return of ‘Supper at the Community Projects’ in Albert Street. You might remember we went to the Vegan Supper back in October which was excellent. […]

[…] Oh what a lovely evening that was … it was strange, as we’d gone down with the anticipation of experiencing what we did last time, but got something totally different. However, the different was also great. […]
