The flyer for this forthcoming exhibition at Quay Arts really grabbed our attention when we saw it a couple of weeks ago.
We made a mental note to go along to the exhibition just based on that but are now even more keen to make sure we don’t miss it after reading more about the Greg.
The artist, Greg Daville is no new kid on the block, having been widely exhibited around the world.
He uses digitally manipulated photography as means of communication and as a metaphor for the human condition. In this series that he has developed for the exhibition, buildings are photographed, and then structurally altered by digital manipulation.
We read that Greg’s work is influenced by ‘Parkour’ (something we have a great love of), the Situationist’s idea of ‘La Derive’, (not something we’d heard of before, but apparently this is the conscious drifting through the city as an activity in its own right), and suburban sprawl .
We’re looking forward to getting up to Quay next month for this one and suggest you do the same.
