Wightlink inform us that owing to operational requirements all sailings on the Portsmouth/Fishbourne will be delayed by approximately 30 minutes until further notice.

Due to the forecast adverse weather conditions in the Solent area for Sunday 28/2/10, Wightlink will be running an hourly service between Portsmouth and Fishbourne, from 06:00 until 21:00 ex Gunwharf and from 07:00 until 22:00 ex Fishbourne. Outside of these times, the normal timetable will apply.

Wightlink would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. Passengers concerned about their sailing(s) should call Wightlink reservations on 0871 376 1000.

If you’re planning to travel on the ferry on this coming Sunday (3rd January) be aware of some cancellations.

Due to ‘operational reasons’ the following sailings have been cancelled.

Ex Portsmouth Gunwharf 18.30
Ex Fishbourne: 19.30

News reaches us from WightLink that the FastCat service between Ryde Pier Head and Portsmouth has been suspended until further notice.

The severe weather conditions are the culprit for the suspension.

There will be bus transfers between the catamaran terminals and the car ferry terminals at Portsmouth and Fishbourne.

As usual passengers are advised to call Wightlink reservations on 0871 376 1000 for more details.

The WightLink ferry service really seems to be plagued with problems at the moment.

The ‘on the hour crossings’ between Portsmouth and Fishbourne has now been extended to include Tuesday 24th, Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th and Saturday 28th November.

Sailings on Friday 27 and Sunday 29 November will run to the advertised sailing schedules (subject to weather conditions).

WightLink inform us that due to operational reasons, the Fishbourne to Portsmouth ferry will continue running on the hour only (ie. no half hour sailings) between now and Wednesday 25th November.

We’re awaiting a response from WightLink as to whether the no-reservation stipulation (that was in place yesterday and today) will continue in this period too.

Blimey, it’s blowing a hoolie out there today and the weather is understandably affecting the cross-Solent travel.

Hover Travel
The service between Ryde and Southsea is suspended until further notice.

Red Funnel
Both Red Jet 3 and Red Jet 4 are running approximately 10 minutes late due to the current weather conditions.

Sailings of the car ferry is unaffected by the bad weather conditions

Wightlink
As we reported at the weekend, the Portsmouth to Fishbourne service is running hourly today.

No problems reported on the Fast Cat.

We’ve just heard from Wightlink that their Portsmouth-Fishbourne car ferry service is being restricted over the next few days.

The route will have no service on the half hour on Sunday 22 and Monday 23 November, with only an hourly service running.

Wightlink are announcing changes to their timetable for the Fishbourne to Portsmouth sailings from Friday (20th November) this week.

The ferry company are attributing essential maintenance to one of their vessels for the timetable changes.

Oh dear, more disruption to hit sailings for WightLink’s Portsmouth-Fishbourne ferry service for most of this week.

Due to the Great South Run taking place tomorrow (Sunday 25th) there will be some changes to the WightLink Portsmouth/Fishbourne ferry service.
