Reduced Island Line Service This Afternoon

Looks like the Island Line service is going to be affected for the next couple of hours.
Due to electrical supply problems, there will be a reduced service of:
* 15 minutes past the hour from Shanklin
* 45 minutes past the hour from Ryde Pier Head
They say it’ll last until around 3pm.
Lake & Sandown Hit By Power Cut

There was a power cut over parts of Lake and Sandown this evening.
Original estimates by Southern Electric were that it would be fixed in 2-3 hours, but happily the power came back on at around 6:10pm.
Newchurch Male Voice Choir: Lake

The Newchurch Male Voice Choir, who will be making their debut Bestival appearance this coming Saturday have a warm-up gig on Tuesday night.
If you’re not able to get to Bestival and fancy a bit of male voice action, then Lake Methodist Church, Sandown Road is the place to be from 7.30pm on Tuesday night.
There’ll be a retiring collection at the end with all proceeds to church repair fund.
La Banane Reborn This Weekend

As mentioned in our posting about Teresa Grimaldi’s forthcoming Vacated Works exhibition at Quay Arts, this weekend sees the the transformation of a derelict ice cream kiosk on the Lake cliff top.
Teresa and her sister who ran the kiosk in the 1980s hold fond memories of the place and on bank holiday Monday (weather permitting) will be re-creating the La Banane experience.
