29, January 2008to24, February 2008

As usual, there’s another great exhibition just started over at Dimbola Lodge.

Monochrome MetaphorsTitled To the Lighthouse (And Back), it’s a collection of monochrome images by Steven Burrows which were used to help launch the arts charity - Mental Fight Club.

It features images of Lundy Island taken during a stay on the Island in February 2004.

“Given the choice I always photograph in black and white, and work in what has been referred to as a poetic-documentary style,” he says.

The exhibition will be on display again at Dimbola Lodge from 29 January to 24 February.

As well as being a photographer, Stephen Burrows cares for someone with severe mental health problems.

If you can’t make it along to Dimbola, you can see more of Stephen’s work on his website

I was very impressed with Stephens photographs of Lundy, as you can imagine, I receive a lot of images of the island, however, Stephen has captured in black and white a very atmospheric and somewhat different view of some of the iconic images of Lundy which having lived here for 4 years inspired me.
