This is Asa: Fundraising screening
Friday, 30th March, 2007 at 9:00 am, Isle of Wight
On Tuesday night, Simon and I were very lucky to be invited along to a preview screening of Simon Higgin’s new film about Asa Singleton’s life, travels and experiences.
It was possibly one of the most powerful and thought provoking films I’ve ever seen and most definitely humbling. I found it very hard to hold back the tears as we saw Asa and his family go through the heartache of operation after operation.
Throughout it all, what really comes through in the film, is Asa’s incredible strength of character, his selflessness and amazing ability to remain positive and infect everyone he meets with that same positivity.
A new web site has just gone up where you can view the trailer to the film, and find out more information about the condition, Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2), that Asa has lived with for all his life. I’d never heard of this condition, but it affects one in 40,000 people.
So, get your tickets for the fundraising event on 20th April at Ryde Theatre and tell your friends and family about it.
Not only will you get to see the full length film, but there’ll also be live music from some of the Island’s best, Paul Armfield, The Chancers and Cozy Flashbak.(all now confirmed).
