The Wild Oats Charity Single Launch Gig
Friday, 26th October, 2007 at 1:19 pm, Isle of Wight

Earlier this month, The Wild Oats laid down a recording of their new charity single, Paper Tigers.
The money raised from the single (every £2 of the £3 cover price) will be put towards enhancing the learning environment at St George’s School in Newport.
The school specialises in supporting kids with multiple learning difficulties and the new environment will help the kids learn in a fun, creative and sensory way.
The kids and teachers themselves have also contributed to the single, providing vocals on the b-side track called “The Making Sense Song”.
Now, you can’t release a charity single without having a great bash and that’s exactly what those lovely chaps from The Wild Oats have planned.
Please put Friday 16th November in your diary, because a night of splendid Island music and comedy is planned at Ryde Theatre.
The night is to be compered by none other than TV presenter Chris Packham, and if the lineup below doesn’t, perhaps his presence will be packing them in (boom boom).
The theatre will be rearranged for the night with two or maybe three stages set up, creating a ‘later with Jools Holland’ vibe, which sounds excellent.
There will be magic from the amazing Aaron Isted, stand up comedy from local favourite comic Ollie Ducie and music by The Wild Oats, Hugo Frusslinky, The Hoops, Paul Armfield, Puzzle Muteson and Chris Q & Becky Rice.
If that’s not enough for you, there will also be an Open Mic Hour for anyone who wants to give it a go.
If you’re over 16 and hand over £4 to get in (£5 on the door) this should be a night to remember.
You can buy your ticket online or by calling Ryde Theatre on 568099.
