Suzes Room: Take A Stroll Down On Saturday
Tuesday, 23rd May, 2006 at 8:42 pm, Isle of Wight
It’s taken me a while to get around to writing about this, but a couple of weeks ago, we popped into a fantastic new shop in Ventnor, called suzesroom.
You’d probably noticed the pink paper up on the wonderful curved glass prior to its opening on 6th May and if you haven’t had the chance to pop in yet, do take the time.
With freshly baked cakes and a huge smile, you’ll feel most welcome at suzesroom.
The shop came about when Suze realised that she couldn’t see the floor in her bedroom anymore, because she had just too much stuff.
The space she’s chosen on Pier Street is perfect for her huge collection of retro classics; furniture, mirrors, art work, crockery, linen, the list goes on. The bone china tea sets took me back to my Nan’s kitchen, I can just hear the tea being poured and smell the cake baking in the oven!
If you’e flush enough to treat yourself or want to buy someone an unusual present you’re bound to find it here.
Really interesting hand made bags, aprons, gorgeous girls dresses using vintage fabrics and jewellery come from Helen, a stylist who also runs Vintage Vacations.
At the moment the shop is only open on Saturday and Sundays, with some Friday evenings, but come summer, it’ll also be open during the week, otherwise you can get her on her mobile - 07866 411490.
If you do make a visit, don’t forget to tell them you heard about it on VentnorBlog.

This is brilliant and an excellent balance to the other shops. Just right for Ventnor. Good for her!
Hopefully more shops like this will appear. Brigitte’s old shop Pie in the Sky comes to mind, as does the refurbished childs DIY Pottery shop opposite Hose Rhodes, which rumour has it, was due to be taken over by Pittis.
If that be so, do we really need FIVE estate agents on the street?????
