Swim To Bestival: Josh Williamson
Tuesday, 28th August, 2007 at 12:05 pm, Isle of Wight
If you’ve had your head in the sand as far as Bestival announcements go, you won’t know about the spectacular feat that 12 bonkers people are planning to take part in, a week on Friday.
All for the sake of charity (two very worthy ones at that) twelve brave (or is that crazy?) souls have taken up the gauntlet and will be swimming to Bestival.
Each day in the run up to the Bestival, we’ll be profiling the swimmers and giving you the lowdown on how they feel about getting soggy before Bestival in order to raise much needed cash for two fantastic charities, Imibala and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Today we kick off with Josh Williamson. He is 26 years young, so sure to be fit and healthy enough to make the three mile journey across the Solent.
His main job is working as an administrator, but he may have an edge on the other competitors as he also works as a part-time swimming coach. This accolade will surely put him in good stead for the marathon swim.
In his own words, he admits that “I’m the late arrival for the swim. I’ve been swimming for too long but this is by far my biggest challenge and I’m really looking forward to it”.
“I mean what better way to get to your first ever Bestival and raise a load of money for some great causes at the same time”.
