Studio Cafe Launch Night (Podcast)

Friday, 25th July, 2008 at 5:10 pm, Isle of Wight

Studio Cafe Launch NightLast week we went along to the official launch of the newly opened Studio Cafe in Newport.

It was wonderful to see the cafe buzzing with people and the walls adorned with artwork from six Island artists (more to come on that later).

Platform One music student, Seb Clarke (podcast with Seb coming later) played an acoustic set to a very appreciative crowd, but just before he got started we worked our way through the crowds finding out what people thought of the new cafe.

Studio Cafe Launch NightFor some, it was their first time at the cafe, others had been before and all those who had eaten there previously were extremely impressed with the quality and portion sizes!

There is another music night planned for late August and we’ll let you know once we have full details.

We have more podcasts coming out from the night soon, but in the meantime, listen to what others thought ….

If you’re up in Newport, do pop in for breakfast, lunch or afternoon snacks. From our experience of the cafe, you can be assured of a warm welcome and great service.

If you want to hear more about what the Studio Cafe has to offer, Simon caught up with owner Janet Harrison the previous week and you can read some more background on their approach to food and listen to the podcast.

I have been in and tried the food at the studio. I have to say it was just by chance, because it is not somewhere I would normally be walking past, but had seen the article written on the blog last week. I thought, next time I’m in Newport, I shall make an effort and very glad that I did. The food was very good and the people were lovely. Customer service is more important than ever and these people have it nailed. Good luck to them. I’ll be sure to visit again and hope others will too.
