Scoccia & Fitzgerald-Bond On School Closures
Monday, 28th January, 2008 at 12:09 pm, Isle of Wight
We’ve not heard anything - directly or via any of the Island’s media sources - from either of Ventnor’s local councillors that sit on the County Council - Susan Scoccia and Jonathan Seaver Fitzgerald-Bond - as to their views on which, if any, of the current schools proposals they are in favour of.
We’ve dropped them a note today, in an attempt to find out more …
Morning. A quick note to find out your feelings about the proposed school reforms.
What are you planning to Vote on the 19 March?
Which of the current school options do you support, if any?
Looking forward to your earliest reply.
You’d imagine that they’ll be able to come back with a pretty quick response given how the issue has been dominating much of Island life over the last two weeks, wouldn’t you?
We’ll let you know when we hear back.

I no longer live on the island, and have just picked up on the school closure thing. Where is there a list of the schools at risk? Thanks very much!

There are 23 schools that will close under any of the three options, but for full details you should look at the council website.

We’ve followed it as closely as possible, so have quite a few stories/interviews on it, and you can see all under our coverage on Island School Closures.
There’s two other sites setup specifically to share information about the two; with lots of info on them SOSIOW and Save IOW Schools.
Here’s the details of the schools under closure threat as well.

almost a month has passed and although we can see how they voted the other day, have the good councillors replied to you personally?
