Same Difference?
Monday, 31st March, 2008 at 1:12 pm, Isle of Wight
The dear old Chronicle covered the story about the new inhabitants of the corner ‘clock’ shop. Shop keepers and residents are outraged, it tells us - unsurprisingly given what a mess the place looks.
They use two photos at the bottom of the article in an attempt to illustrate the difference between the clock shop and the re-launched Bon Bon sweet shop (French Affair as was).
Sadly for the Chronicle, it doesn’t look like the photos that they took were quite up to scratch, as, under the “Spot The Difference!” title, the two photos looks more similar than different! Ah, bless.

The Chronicle is quite right of course, the two shops couldn’t look more different in real life.

As you say the photos do not do justice to the gorgeousness of Bon Bon and the awfulness of the “clock Shop” but the Chronicle made the point and this town is small enough for everyone to go and have a look for themselves! I reckon the difference is that one shop was set up with a lot of thought and imagination by people who care about this wonderful place we live in - the other well……

yes you are right Lizzy I know Steve & Carol very well and they are the sort of earth who went into a lot of thought and imagination also care as well about this wonderful town we live in. But yes as for this so called charity shop which is by where the clock is it looked more like a junkyard sort of owned by steptoe & Son i could not believe they had to open on Good Friday the same day when Steve & Carol (bless their hearts) reopened their wonderful shop comparing to that so called shop which was run by a community project which was based in Ryde so their had to rub it in didn’t they
