It’s with sadness that we receive the following police press release - and it was done on valentines day too. Ed
Officers are appealing for information following an incident of criminal damage at Robin Hill, Arreton.
Sometime between 6pm on Thursday, 14 February and 7.10am on Friday, February 15 a group of offenders caused considerable damage to the country park.
Overnight the offenders entered the park and pitched two tents in the children’s play area.
When the proprietor arrived at 7.10am on Friday morning, he found a road roller on its side, a vandalised mechanical digger and windows broken in an office and toilet block.
There was also lots of glass and rubbish scattered around a children’s adventure playground which is being upgraded and is the site of building work.
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Andrew Vaughan at Newport police station on 0845 045 45 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
