Red Funnel Buoy Up Jazzz Festival With Last Minute Lifeline

We’ve been asking Red Funnel for a statement about their support of the Jazz Festival for quite a few weeks now, following Wightlink deciding that they couldn’t be involved with it this year. Today we got a statement from them, which is shown in full below …
Red Funnel has agreed to provide ferry travel for artists performing at this year’s Isle of Wight International Jazz Festival which takes place on 11-13 April 2008 in Ventnor.
Without support, the Festival would be unlikely to continue which would come as a great loss to many on the Island, including many businesses in Ventnor, who have already committed to this year’s event.
Cue large sighs of relief from Sigma House.

This move by Red Funnel shows yet again the tremendous value put on the Ventnor Jazz Festival. That value obviously goes far beyond the risk of being accused of endorsing the festival organisers, who we know still have some outstanding debts and disputes.
