PricewaterhouseCoopers: Accountants Swap Laptops For Paintbrushes

This Thursday, in association with radio station Power FM, a team of accountants from uber-accounting firm, Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP in Southampton will be putting a lid on their laptops, leaving their pin-stripes in the wardrobe and donning themselves in overalls.
It’s all part of a drive across the region to get involved with community projects and St Catherine’s School in Ventnor will be welcoming around ten volunteers who plan to get involved with painting projects at the school.
Others benefiting from the accountant’s involvement stretch from Lyndhurst to Southampton and from Winchester to Havant. The various projects that the volunteers will be getting involved with were voted for by listeners of Zoe and Gillies Power FM breakfast show throughout August.

The number of volunteers we’re able to provide for the day means we’re able to make a real difference. We’re looking forward to getting stuck in next Thursday!”
He commented: “The Southampton office already undertakes a variety of activities within its local
community on a regular basis and it’s exciting to be able to extend what we already do through this
dedicated community day.”
The community projects chosen involve both large and small charitable organisations, schools and community groups.
Examples of projects include:
- Makeover of rooms and corridors of KIDS Family Centre in Fareham
- Gardening and brightening up the grounds of Signature Care & Support Group in Havant.
- Painting the sports hall of The Carroll Centre, a Sure Start Graduated Children Centre in Winchester
- Decorating the residents’ rooms of Woodside Lodge in Southampton, a residential home for elderly people with dementia.
- Developing a community garden for young dads at Forest First Children’s Centre in Fawley.
