Sorry folks, this wasn’t a very well researched piece ! There are 8 wards for the new Newport Town Council each electing 2 town councillors - 7 of which wards are contested today. In Pan, Tony and I were elected unopposed. In Ryde its the same set-up, but with only four wards having contests today. There are no elections in Northwood or Whippingham as there were less candidates than places. Hope that helps.
