Mill Bay Plans At Town Council Meeting Tonight

Monday, 16th April, 2007 at 6:59 pm, Isle of Wight

Due to the information on the Town council Web site being out of date, the last posting is incorrect.

The Annual Town Meeting is being held tonight and it’s being followed by a planning meeting. We can confirm that one of the applications being discussed is the new planning application for the Mill Bay. We assume it will take around an hour to reach the planning section, so start at around 8pm.

Planning, Politics, Ventnor

I thought it was a great step forward for town council to have agendas & minutes on the website. Not so very long ago the only way to find out anything was to call the town clerk & arrange to look at papers in his presence in the Winter Gardens…..

Now it seems they can’t even get this right.

Was it not officially advertised in the Chronicle last week as 24th April ? If so, guessing standing orders have been compromised by this last minute change.

Brenda Lawson was having a moan in the Chronicle about people not turning up for the recent Safer Community Partnership meeting the other night (re community/police etc)

Did she tell the Chronicle about it ? Did she tell the Blog about it or Solent TV ?

Hardly surprising if people don’t turn up to things if they aren’t aware what’s going on. Maybe people didn’t bother because as we all know, consultation in the past doesn’t actually mean anything & the ‘powers that be’ will just do what they first intended anyway, whatever the local people think.
