McDonalds Want 3am License

Monday, 2nd June, 2008 at 4:17 pm, Isle of Wight

McDonalds Want 3am LicenseMcDonalds are applying to the council’s Licensing Committee to open their Ryde restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights … until 3am.

They’re currently licensed to purvey food to the willing until 11pm at night.

Given that they open at 5am every day, Saturday and Sunday mornings are going to be a little frantic, closing at 3am only to open two hours later.

There’s been an objection on the grounds of Prevention of Public Nuisance from a local business owner and the police have asked for CCTV to be installed - beyond that no-one else has commented.

It’s not Ronald McD applying for the license, but a company called Khorosho Limited, who appear to be based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire.

The case will be heard in a weeks time on 9 June 2008.

    there’s a mcdonalds in ventnor?

    how depressing.

    i think a lot of their stores are franchises hence the application from khorosho.

  2. Farmersboy Says:

    Purvey food to the willing, what’s willing about being on Union Street at 3a.m., starving, and macdonalds the only place open, it’s not willing, it’s a self inflicted wound.

  3. kj Says:

    well you would have a long walk from Union Street to McDonalds.

    McDonalds do none of their planning permissions/applications in their own name to avoid opposition from McDonalds protestors.

  4. Bertie Says:

    @seb
    No. There is not a McDonalds in Ventnor, but the planning officers on this authority could easily slip one in without our noticing

  5. steve s Says:

    I heard they were planning to build one on the seafront, on the old Cheetah Marine site.

    @steve - that’s very funny.
