Making Waves Tonight

Thursday, 21st August, 2008 at 11:06 am, Isle of Wight

8:00 pm

More live Island music tonight in the penultimate Making Waves gig at Ryde Theatre.

Tonight’s offering includes The Guy Page Trio of Guy Page Trio fame. Worth watching solo as well as in the trio. Update: Whoops, got it wrong, it is of course the trio playing tonight - Thanks Guy for update.

Making their way to the Island from Brighton will be Great Outdoors,

They add this lovely message to their MySpace

Can you really paint with dots and crotchets the scent of sunlight in the meadows? Can the rests and runs of quavers represent the rain, continuing to dampen the summer and cloud away blue sky? If the strong seasonal breezes on the mainland catch our voices as they sing, and send them over the Solent, will you be in the theatre to listen? On the Isle, the sandy perimeter glistens at night, the cliffs wink – we’ll cross that shore border, and tune our guitars, warm our words, and come and play for you all. Are you going to be at the gig? We’ll do our best to bring summer inside; promise. See you there!

How can you resist?

Also on the bill will be Claydon Connor and Kelvin Cochrane.

As usual the gig will be recorded and muscians interviewed by Glynn Taylor for Live and Local show on IW Radio 102/7fm. Broadcast on Sunday nights between 7-10pm.

It’ll only cost you £3 to get in, kicks off at 8pm.
