Local Author To Appear At Freshwater Library

Wednesday, 31st October, 2007 at 11:15 am, Isle of Wight

A FASCINATING talk on the history of the Isle of Wight will be given at Freshwater Library in December.

John Medland, editor of the Isle of Wight Beacon, will be giving a short talk about his new book “The Making of the Wight” December 11.

John’s superbly illustrated book chronicles the history of the Island from the Roman Empire to the space rocket programme.

The book is an ideal introduction to the unique heritage on the Isle of Wight, featuring great events, characters and locations in Island history.

It also incorporates material from the Beacon magazine “Island Story” series.

John will be at Freshwater Library on Tuesday December 11 at 11am. There will also be opportunities to buy copies of his book.
