Jazz Festival: Grand Finale
Sunday, 13th April, 2008 at 8:30 am, Isle of Wight
Don’t forget the grand finale of the Isle of Wight International Jazz Festival is Pete Long’s big swing band featuring Ian Shaw and Liane Carrol.
The jazz duo will be taking part in this specially commissioned performance with an 18 piece Big Swing Orchestra of major names led by Pete Long, director of Ronnie Scotts Big Band.
The Orchestra will be presenting all the great hits of the golden years of swing. Expect to hear from the libraries of Basie, Goodman, Shaw, Ellington, Barnet, Kenton and Miller. Liane and Ian will also be mixing some of the great Ella Fitzgerald numbers along with soulful recollections from the swinging repertoire of Ray Charles.

We thought the Ventnor jazz festival was the best ever this year. We loved the more compact range of venues, the jazz was inspiring and gave us great buzz of pleasure at the end of what has been a long winter. Ventnor as usual had on its best frock. We are buying the very early bird tickets for next year this week. Loved it!
