Joe Lester's Sea Horses – © Lisa DowdenWe all know that the Island is bursting at the seams with creative types, from musicians to writers, artists to designers, it seems that at almost every corner we turn, more talented and interesting folk appear.

Lisa and Andrew Dowden, who we met some time ago, are another great example.

Pottery and ceramics is their game, but not just in creating pieces of work, they have also spent ten years researching twentieth century Isle of Wight potters and potteries.

‘At the end of a rainbow, Historical Isle of Wight Pottery’ and ‘A Century of Ceramics’ A selection of 20th century potters and potteries are just two titles under the name of Buttercup Cottage Books that contain a wealth of information about Pottery on the Isle of Wight.

They say that research is ongoing and they are always interested to hear and learn about any information relating to Island potters and potteries.

Take a look at their website for more information and contact details.
