Gum Fu: Enter The Clinic: Interview with Streets Ahead Team (podcast)
Wednesday, 21st May, 2008 at 2:17 pm, Isle of Wight
Continuing with the podcasts from the Gum Fu premiere held at Quay Arts last month, we caught up with more of the Streets Ahead Production team after the screening to find out what they get out of being involved in film production.
They were an enthusiastic bunch of young people who told us how much fun they have being involved with the Streets Ahead projects. Their advice was that so long as you stay committed to your task there are many good times to be had.
Although for many it was a steep learning curve, hard work and determination is what kept them going.
As well as learning new skills that might not be taught at school, the young people have also gained more knowledge about the subjects they’ve been filming.
In this case of course, the risk of Sexually Transmitted Infections was the subject of the project, but in previous productions, the young people involved have been able to learn more, amongst other things, about the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse.

The last of the podcasts to come is an interview with Andy Jones, the leader of the project.
