Giddings Going to Eco-up The IW Festival

John Giddings is putting a positive spin on Lily Allen cancelling her appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival - and getting a mention of the Eco-Island initiative in there too.
In a piece on the BBC site, Giddo says that he’s not going to book another band in Lil’s place, but instead he’d “use the money to make the event more environmentally friendly.”
He went on to say, “I want to make our festival ahead of the game in all of this, making it carbon neutral, and with the Isle of Wight bringing in their Eco Island policy, this would dovetail perfectly into that.”
Smiles all round at the County Hall we’d imagine, especially in the build up to the Big Green Picnic with proceeds the Festival, running between 24-25 May 2008.
BTW - There’s less than a hundred days until the IW Festival now.
