NITON school's "FONSTIVAL" – A music fest for the whole family
If the excitement of this years Festival has left you hankering for more musical wonderment or if great live music without the huge crowds is more your thing then look no further than Niton’s own music festival,”"FONSTIVAL”. Organised by The Friends of Niton School as a fund raising event, the F.O.N.S raises money towards additional resources as well as educational and fun activities for the children of Niton Primary School.
Starting at 1pm till 11pm on Saturday 16th July, the Fonstival is a music and fun packed mini fest for young and old held on Niton School Field. When you buy your ticket you’ll have signed up to hearing some great live music from Arizona 81, Lucid, Cyrus Dean, Asaph , Mick Watson and more. There’s a free bouncy castle for the kids
( bad luck you grown ups), plus dressing up tent and craft activities.
As even a “mini fest” can be hungry and thirsty work we’ve a mouth watering hog roast , veggie delights and a licensed bar and for those who like a nice warm fire Charnwood are bringing a log burning stove to keep you warm into the night (if you’re not up and dancing by then!).
As the FONSTIVAL’s popularity grows from year to year we would recommend booking in advance as numbers are limited.
Tickets can be purchased from NITON POST OFFICE or NITON SCHOOL
Wrist bands- collect at gate on day.

The line up:
Arizona 21 ... a talented young band playing all your favourite covers .Having raised the crowds at the Old Gaffers from the floor to dancing on the tables, we are sure they’ll have you up and dancing too!
Mick Watson- A welcome back to Mick who, I read somewhere, sings songs of wonder ,woe ,desperation and derision something for everyone!
Cyrus Dean- A man and his keyboard with many a mellow offering. (Check out his music on My Space.)
Chorduroys- A 6 piece band playing mostly folk (and a bit of reggae).
Apparently only one of the members owns a pair of cords, which are worn infrequently, maybe the elusive cords will appear at the Fonstival there to find out!
Lucid – Are making a return visit to the Fonstival having played in 2008 .The band formed in 2007 and have gone from strength to strength . It’s great to have this popular and original folk -rock back. “No Reflection” is Lucid’s current album should you want to hear their unique sound before experiencing the real thing at this years FONSTIVAL!!!
Cantraband- we smuggled in this folky treasure.
Asaph- another great folk band with a gospel touch.
Don’t whisper too loud- shhhhh...
Lizzie Maddin- more great covers
