FairTrade Fortnight: Show Your Support In Ventnor
Tuesday, 26th February, 2008 at 2:15 pm, Isle of Wight
FairTrade products do really help the rural producers in foreign parts. Without it they are living on peanuts, for growing peanuts for us.
The big conglomerates regularly screw the poor workers into extreme poverty. But, cooperatives, properly supported by the Fairtrade movement, gives them a half decent living.
FairTrade fortnight started yesterday and highlights the value of the FairTrade movement.
Cafes in Ventnor who serve FairTrade tea and coffee etc are:
Tilly’s, Tides, Troubadour, Tapas Bar El Toro and The Hub Café at St Catherine’s Church (looks like a bit of a trend going there with all the Ts - Ed)
You can also buy fairtrade coffee from The Ventnorian.
