Email Outage At Council Isn’t Their Fault
Thursday, 24th January, 2008 at 9:32 pm, Isle of Wight
We’ve seen a few stories floating around saying that people have been unable to send their emails to council staff - which is not good at the best of times, but when there are a lot of concerns flying around about the potential closure of 22 primary schools, it’s less than convenient.
The council claim that it’s down to an external supplier of their email services, to which many have concluded “Oh yeah, pull the other one.”
Well conspiracy theorists, we’ve got to burst your bubble. The company that provides the councils virus protection, Clearswift, has been having problems with their Minesweeper service - and it’s just hit the news.
We imagine that the council employees who run the email system at County Hall are having less than an enjoyable time at the moment, as the senior official and councillors roast them - so do spare a thought for them.
