Lovers of hip hop spans many generations, so hopefully should ensure a large turnout for the next HappyFeet gig at Ryde Theatre.
After a storming Happyfeet Productions show last year, DJ Format returns for a second performance at Ryde Theatre, playing four decks two mixer show with Mr Thing and a lot of funk, hip hop, soul, breakbeat, RnB and of course, flair.
Mr Thing (pictured left) is a British hip hop producer. Those in the know, will remember him as a former member of the Scratch Perverts.
He has worked with such artists as Yungun, Doc Brown and Devise. Mr Thing is also winner of the DMC Scratch Championship 2000 and current holder of the DMC World Team Scratch Championship with The Scratch Perverts.
Matt Ford, better known as DJ Format, is a hip hop DJ born in Southampton, United Kingdom and living in Brighton. Ugly Ducking, People Under The Stairs, Foreign Beggars, Stig & Syntax, Klashnekoff & Stones Throw Records have all propelled The Venue into the 21st Century, whilst simultaneous introducing classics such as Hip Hop innovators Charlie Chase and Whipper Whip, alongside James Brown’s soul sister number one, Marva Whitney, and the legendary jazz funkateer Roy Ayers.
