Council Sell Off Properties and Freehold

delegated powersMany of you will be aware that the Isle of Wight Council are in the process of selling off land and properties that they currently own as part of the capital receipts programme.

Three of these are coming up for consideration under delegated powers next week.

We thought you might interested to see the details.

Decisions will be taken by Cllr George Brown – Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy, Leisure, Planning and Property.

The values of the properties range considerably, from £5,000 for the freehold to the British Red Cross in East Cowes, to £360,000 for nine flats in a Victorian property in Totland.

    I guess they have to pay for their Microsoft upgrades (roughly £800k) somehow. Next up, the school sites that they promised would be only sold for educational purposes, although, er, not schools. Obviously.
