Corner ‘Clock’ Shop Coming To Life?

Thursday, 20th March, 2008 at 6:26 pm, Isle of Wight

Corner 'Clock' Shop Coming To Life?It was with quite some excitement that we saw that the shop at the corner of Pier Street and Church Street, by the traffic lights, had it’s windows cleared.

It’s been sitting with white washed windows for over a year, really not adding to the area, so to see people in there making a change is most welcome from the people we spoke to about it.

It’s been owned by Island estate agents Pittis, who were originally planning to open a branch there, but have promptly done nothing of the sort.

It’s one of the entrances to Ventnor, so let’s hope it used for something decent.

Spoke to one of the guys moving stuff in today.
Apparently it’s going to be used for second hand furniture.

This property was mentioned at a Ventnor Town Council meeting not long ago as an eye-sore in the centre of town, and Pittis were identified as the owners. Maybe something was said to them and then they did something about it. It is a lovely building and so good to see it back in use, especially when waiting at the bus stop outside Boots. The Town Council ain’t all bad.

Corner Clock Shop Coming to Life you must be joking. What a disgrace have these people no pride. All they did was chuck a load of old furniture in a shop and started trading. They could’nt even be bothered to clean the outside of the shop. This is of course totally irrelevant. This is a prime example of shortsighted landlords who don’t care about the town or their property as long as they get their rent.

As you will’ve read, we wrote the article before the new tenants moved in. Take your point completely Tilly.
