Council Sell Off Properties and Freehold

Totland Rec Regeneration: The Hemingway’s First Visit

Last Friday morning, legendary designers Gerardine and Wayne Hemingway were to be found at the Totland Parish Council offices. An unlikely place perhaps, but the reason for their presence on the Wight will soon become clear.

Inside the buzzy Parish Council offices a meeting was taking place to discuss the regeneration of some open spaces in Totland. Sat around the table were representatives from the IW Council, the Parish Council, public artists - Ecclestone George, Craig Anthony Ratcliffe Gardens and Kate Sanger (furniture maker).

As we stated previously, even though the Real World Trust have since pulled out of Weston Manor, we still felt it was important to publish these interviews which took place back in January, as they raise many contradictions and discrepancies.

Weston Manor “Up For Sale”

There’s a fair bit to report from it, which we’ll pick up later in the week, but the biggest surprise of the evening was delivered by a Mrs Robertson.

Vaguely Sunny Promotions in association with The Farringford Hotel, are staging a concert at the Farringford Hotel, Freshwater featuring John Renbourn and Robin Williamson.

Luminary acoustic guitarist and songwriter John Renbourn is best known for his collaboration with Bert Jansch. (more…)

Weston Manor Public Meeting

Cancelled due to bad weather conditions.

Those who have been following the saga of Weston Manor and The Real World Trust’s attempt to convert the wonderful Grade II listed building into a drink and drug rehabilitation centre, may be interested in a meeting being held next Monday night.

Weston ManorNow that the Real World Trust have dropped their plans to convert the manor, suggestions for others uses for the site are being canvassed by the Totland Parish Council. (more…)
