Barclays Premier League Trophy Coming To Steephill

As pointed out by forum member, Lowtherville Lout, tucked at the bottom of Graeme Burnett’s cricket report this week, is news of that the Barclays Premier League Trophy will be coming to Steephill next month.
Well done to Ventnorian Ben Davies (see below) for bringing the trophy down to Ventnor.
Let’s all try and get as much money raised for youth development at Ventnor Cricket Club, by having photos taken with the trophy, as it’ll be matched pound for pound by Barclays Bank. (more…)









Last Friday morning, legendary designers Gerardine and Wayne Hemingway were to be found at the Totland Parish Council offices. An unlikely place perhaps, but the reason for their presence on the Wight will soon become clear.
Three of St Catherine’s learner showed John around the centre. They joined an occupational therapy session, a class and observed young people learning brick laying in a vocational training session.

We have to admit that the Red Funnel April Fool’s joke of crossing out the words ‘Red Eagle’ on the side of one of their ferries and having ‘Red Squirrel’ scrawled on was a tad lame (sorry RF), but this video below that has just been sent to us (thanks Eileen) made us laugh much more.
It’s not every day that a local football team - in particular one made up of part time players - is all over the National media, but today is the exception.
Don’t forget that tonight sees the final show of the season for the Ventnor Film Soc.
The have five teams playing in the Isle of Wight Sunday League, with 90 players signed on. But, they are short on managers and looking for volunteers for the two new under 10s teams. If you think you can help out, please get in touch.
