Can You DiG it?
Monday, 14th November, 2005 at 9:27 pm, Isle of Wight
Yes, you can … this Saturday at the Ventnor Winter Gardens.
For anyone who hasn’t seen the posters in shop windows, flyers, or postings on the forum, this Saturday sees the debut night of DiG at the Gardens.
Your hosts (DiG Promotions), will be introducing for your aural delight the fantabulous Cooly Haste, Blank Beats, Randy Bones, Max Brennan, Mewtant and many others who’ll be bringing you funk, soul, rick (rick - who’s he? I mean rock, but rick sounds better), rap and reggae.
Ringo’s got the right idea, dust down your dinner suits and get ready to cut some shapes on the dance floor.
The fun starts at 8pm, runs till 2am and will cost you £5 to get in.
Don’t be late, it’s gonna be a very popular night.

[...] Tim has worked really hard to get DiG off the ground. If tonight’s success is anything to go by, once a month you can be sure of a welcomed retreat that can be found at the Ventnor Winter Gardens. [...]

Yea the night was going real good untill cooly
haste came on, did he notice how the floor cleared so quickly?
Come on lets not pretend anymore that this
rap/poetic/talentless rubbish is entertaining
own up to yourselfs
November 27th, 2005 at 9:41 pm
but isn’t it all about variety? the great thing about DiG is that there IS something for everyone. sal

Look im not knocking DIG it WAS a good night but please lets not have this rap style/Chav MCing at future events, it only appeals to the mindless white baseball cap brigade (variety is good, but not if it only appeals to 3% of the “score though the door”)

well, I definitely agree with one thing. in the words of mr garrison ….
chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad. chavs are bad.

in reply to crisbee i say each to their own, fair play… having two live hip hop acts in a venue with bad accoustics may not have been a great idea. i do feel it’s unfair to call cooly haste a chav! he’s the most consciousness raising individual around and his lyrics are deep and heart felt. future DIG events will be as varied as possible… and Sal? i think chav’s are great cos they piss people off and that’s what J G Ballard reckons creates a unified community!!! DIG?

i dig it and agree, cooly is anything but a chav … infact I just writing a promo for iow electro

O/K if cooley is so “cool” why does he need to perform and try to entertain in such an un-talented way, since when has talent been measured by talking to music beat backing,(wow that must be hard)emulating black american acent
(now thats origanal)Does he play an instument? can he sing? Does he compose music? if not I suggest he appears at a poetry reading event, not a music event. ARTS FOR ARTS SAKE!

December 7th, 2005 at 10:40 am
i thought that was what i was doing
December 10th, 2005 at 1:57 am
crisbee! I think its time you trade in your 30 year old hearing aids and get some of those new fangled digital ones which might help you to translate those messages your getting from outerspace, Also there are some good psychiatrist’s for army WW2 vets as you must have been having some wacky flashbacks at DIG, I’ve seen the footage of the night the floor didn’t clear when cooly came on, you must of thought you were in nomans land! all alone!!! own up to yourself, and go and get some help. oh yeah just one last thing, TWAT!
