Friday, 25th July, 2008 at 5:34 pm, Isle of Wight

Young Writers WeekAre you a budding young writer who could do with some direction?

Do you know a young person who loves writing and could do with some expert guidance on developing their skills?

If so, you need to know about the Young Writers Week being organised by Invent Theatre.

Working in partnership with the Extended Schools program, Invent Theatre will be running a ‘Young Writers Week’ for young people aged fourteen to eighteen living on the Isle of Wight.

This exciting opportunity will take the form of a five day course in which those involved will write and direct a short sketch of their own which will then be performed at an open air performance in front of the general public.

The five day course will also give young people the chance to meet invited guests, including professional writers, providing advise and feedback on your work.

The course cost £25 and places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. For more information and to reserve a place please phone 07974 223938 or email us at inventtheatre (at) gmail.com

Additional Information:

The course will be run in Ventnor with the performance on 22nd August at Ventnor Botanic Garden.

I wonder how many 14-18 year olds recognise the machine on the poster? I stopped using a typewriter nearly 30 years ago.. :-)

Oh, so that’s what it is! ;-)

What's your view?

We all love to read your comments, just consider that they can be read by people of all ages, so please avoid them being offensive, or over-personal.

If wouldn't say it in front of your Gran, please don't post it.

Tip: If you're feeling incensed about a comment and are thinking of bashing out a reply, go and make yourself a cup of something hot, take a deep breath and then reply. You're less likely to write something that you regret later.

Even if you see your name and email address below, please don't be concerned as your email address cannot be seen publicly.
