BT: Isle of Wight Festival Primary Sponsor

Monday, 3rd March, 2008 at 12:01 am, Isle of Wight

BT: Isle of Wight Festival Primary SponsorBT have been pulling people to the Island for a while with their various sailing boat-ages during Cowes Week and of course, they also sponsor the Island’s Dame Ellen Macarthur through, BT Team Ellen.

Today they’re officially announcing that they’re the primary sponsors of this year’s Isle of Wight Music Festival.

Rather than elbowing themselves into the title of the do, as Nokia did, BT are being a little more subtle. It will be known as “the Isle of Wight Festival in association with BT.”

BT will be making it clear to the festival goers that they’re sticking some cash in the direction of John Giddings, et al, by putting their logos around the site.

Old Giddo attempts to spread some interest, “Their (BTs) involvement will benefit the audience experience in a number of ways, yet to be revealed.”
Although this is a little unclear on the surface, we would have thought that BT will be getting their hands on the footage of the festival, and are mostly likely to make it available on their BT Vision service.

If you feel left out by not having got your mitts of one of the 50,000 tickets that have already sold out, BT will be giving you ‘the opportunity’ of buying more tickets (details to follow at a later date).

Hey all you hip IW Festival cats, you’ll be able to cool your boots at the BT chill-out zone.

Call me old fashioned but wouldn’t it TERRIFIC if BT used their Festival ‘bung’ to improve their service to their customers - just a thought…

  2. Brian Says:

They’ve got plenty of money to “bung” around and, from this article, they’re soon to get a lot more!
Well worth a good read IMHO.
