Bestival Fancy Dress: The Mystery Continues … or does it?
Thursday, 10th May, 2007 at 9:07 pm, Isle of Wight
Not to be outdone and certainly always one to lead the way, Bestival brainchild, Rob da Bank has come up with a very novel way to announce this year’s fancy dress theme. Through the Poemcast!
The WHAT? I hear you cry (yeah, turn it down a bit would you?). What you or I might call a podcast, has been transformed into a magical and mystical poemcast.
It’s free, you download it from t’internet and from Monday, you should be able to try and work out the mystery theme for this year’s Record Breaking Bestival Fancy Dress.
Check it on itunes or through Sunday Best.
Here’s a snippet to get you warmed up:
“One Night On The Isle Of Wight”
I thought I saw a pirate flag
A skull and crossbones raggedy rag
Yonder past the sticky out Needles
No look to starboard and then down the middleMy look point was the best in town
Above ye olde Lobster and Crown
Kings and Queens mostly dined here
With the odd rapscallion sipping his beer
Well, those with an imaginative mind could make quite a few costumes from that little lot … however, it might well be that they lead to something very specific, so don’t start making your outfits until you hear the full version which will be available on the Bestival website later next week.
