Bembridge Beaux Arts Join Open Studios

Thursday, 24th July, 2008 at 2:04 pm, Isle of Wight

26, July 2008to29, July 2008

Bembridge Beaux Arts will also be taking part in the Open Studios event this year with their exhibition extended through til Tuesday next week.

Bembridge Beaux ArtsI, Holly, set up the Bembridge Beaux Arts five years ago, initially as a one day event, but after its success in year one, it became a three day exhibition with a private view on the Saturday night prior to opening.

Beaux Arts deals in contemporary work and is as much about creating an event, an ambience, an energy, as it is about the art work itself.

Like a jazz improvisation, all the artists know what they are doing but space is never pre-allocated before setting up - we all just get together on the day and make it happen. As a result the energy of the show changes from year to year but there is always music, fun, laughter, great art, inspiration and good vibes.

This year the dates are as follows:

Sat 26th July - Private View - 8pm onwards (bring a bottle)
Sun 27th July 9am - 6pm
Mon 28th July 9am - 6pm
Tues 29th July 9am - 6pm

19 Artists have been confirmed and will be exhibiting at Bembridge Beaux Arts 08 these are:

Myself Holly Maslen, Pat Clarke, Gerry Price, Lisa Traxler, Tony Trowbridge, Charlotte Hodge-Thomas, Sally Woodford, Erik Phipps, Richard Gear, Sien Anderson, La Loon, Verena Sparrow, Karren Brown, Emma Peace, Luke Ellison, Joe Robertson, Jim Gordine, Luciana Caporaso and Mike Miller.
