Acoustic Originals @ Quay

Monday, 30th July, 2007 at 5:17 pm, Isle of Wight

13, August 2007
7:30 pmto10:30 pm

Last months Acoustic Originals night went down a storm with seven solo artists and two bands, including the legendary Les Payne and his son Chris Payne.

So what’s in store for the August event? First up, is the widely travelled, Isle of Wight songwriter, Staff Brett. Described by a music journalist as being “The right side of Rod Stewart”, Staff prefers to describe himself as sounding like “Live acoustic rock’n'roll with a fillet of soul!”

Also on the bill, a man who appears of the pages of VentnorBlog at least three times this week is probably featured more than any other Island musician, yes it’s Puzzle Muteson. If you haven’t checked him out yet, make sure you do on the 13th.

Quay Arts will be running a song writing course the previous weekend and it’s planned for the freshly penned songs to be performed by the participants as part of this evening.

It’ll also include a set from veteran songwriter Pete Smith (who has written for Cerys and Chaka Khan).

There’s also space for more, so if you’d like to perform on the night, get in touch with Mick Smith asap on 822490 or email at m.smith(at)quayarts(dot)org

Performance Date/Time Mon 13th Aug 7.30-10.30pm
Location: Café Bar, Quay Arts
Ticket Price: £3 Box Office 01983 822490

Events, Music, Newport
