If you’re looking for something to do today, make sure you check our Quay Arts Centre in Newport.

Love heartsFrom 10am they have a free Valentine’s family drop-in workshop. Bring your little ones along to make Valentine’s Day cards.

They are run by volunteers who give their time and skills in order to provide a free event – contributions towards materials are very welcome!

Preview of Lisa Traxler’s solo exhibition
Later in the afternoon, all are welcome to the preview of Isle of Wight artist Lisa Traxler’s latest exhibition, Lives of Spaces.

In this major solo exhibition at Quay Arts, Traxler responds to the weight of remembered experience, she creates an environmental autobiography – a sense of self and place, intimately connected. Accessing this form of memory-mapping has enabled the artist to extend her practice in new directions, from life-sized enamel and steel sculptures, to ephemeral stitched paper installations alongside her customary textured paintings.

Taking place in The West Gallery between 3pm and 4.30pm, it’s your opportunity to meet this popular Island artist.

There are plenty of other event taking place around the Island, check out Events On The Wight for listings and if you know of something we haven’t listed, please add it.
