The monthly lectures by the Vectis Decorative and Fine Arts Society continue next Thursday (16th) with a lecture by Charles Harris on The Great Age of the Poster.

Moulin Rouge PosterManet, Toulouse-Lautrec and inspirational work done by many artists made the world’s first effective method of mass communication a great art form.

In his lecture, Charles Harris relates how technical innovations in printing enabled the poster to become the world’s first effective method of mass communication.
