We love a good fundraiser, especially ones that are a little different from the norm.

Football CakeEast Cowes Victoria Vics are trying to raise funds for East Cowes Victoria AFC and The Island Young Careers and have decided to attempt to break the current Guinness World Record for the longest football match!

The event will take place between 4th-7th May 2012, with a current record of 60 hours to beat.

Sponsors are being sought
Not surprisingly as this is a fundraiser, organisers are currently seeking sponsors of all kinds to support this event.

Over the course of the event there’ll be stalls and live entertainment during the day and night. On top of that, a raffle draw and auction of football memorabilia will be held on the last day of the event.

If you can give some time to help and prize donations would be gratefully appreciated.

Please visit their Facebook page for more detail and updates.
