More acts announced for this year’s Isle of Wight Festival, which takes place later than usual due to the Olympics. This in from organisers, in their own words. Ed
More of the hottest acts around today join the already jam-packed line up at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival. For the first time, the Festival welcomes the sensational Jessie J, who will bring her pure ghetto pop fabulosity to the Main Stage before Tinie Tempah on Saturday 23rd June.
Headlining the Big Top on Saturday will be groundbreaking dubstep pioneers Magnetic Man.
Bursting at the seams, The Garden Stage will host an appearance from the dapper Miles Kane on Saturday. With over 40 acts performing across three stages, join the party at the Isle of Wight Festival 2012, there’s only one place to be.
Kelis, Caro Emerald, Miles Kane and more
On Friday 22nd June, the Big Top will see some massive performances under its roof, with the addition of Harlem-bred vocalist Kelis and the inimitable Caro Emerald. Next up, joining the Big Top line up on Saturday 23rd June will be the provocative London-based girl group, Stooshe.
Over on The Garden Stage the charisma-firework that is Miles Kane as well as the theatrically indie sound of The Real D’Coy, will be appearing before The Charlatans on Saturday June 23rd. LA trio Best Coast will also take to the stage on Friday June 22nd along with Dry the River.
Island act EnglanE has also been confirmed as playing the Garden Stage this year.

“pure ghetto pop fabulosity”
Meh.
I can’t help thinking the Festival has jumped the shark this year. Maybe I’m just getting old but I hope everyone has a great time!

She will appeal to the young. Mr G is desperate to prove this years line-up is not only for the old. There are tickets to sell in a difficult, crowded market!

Really looking forwards to it!
Island really comes alive when either of festivals are on. Can’t understand why some people are moaning especially on Facebook…its a great line up…try seeing all these bands/artists individually for £160. Its not rocket science…if you don’t like it – don’t go!
Looking forward to seeing all headliners, especially Tom Petty with Elbow just before. Jessie J has that little bit of star quality that others don’t have, think we will see a lot of here in years to come…but as an over-50 Festie-goer I shall be pleased to give Tinie Tempah a wide berth bleah! Always suspicious of artists who feel the need to shout out their own names through their “songs”
The joy of festivals is your new discoveries like the Garden Stage…Google “Pronghorn” (cow-punk) they were hilarious and “Charley Macauley” and her band. Charley has beautiful soulful voice and they are worth a million X-Factor winners.
Who’s to discover this year?
