You realise there was a hole. In Cross Street, Ryde. And you weren’t there. Sloppy.

You were lucky you didn’t travel a bit later, the last 2 cats were cancelled after a suicide bid and the passengers traipsed around to the car ferry where they were told that the next boat was the 1.30 carry ferry, which was effectively at 2.30!

We found that the crew were willing to sail at 00.40, old time and then run with out a break to get back to the new time timetable.

We were told managers didn’t want that to happen because the crew are only paid for 10 hours and were classed as being sedentary for the extra hour. It seems as though the crew sailed without pay. I find it ironic that a manger who sits at a desk all day can refuse people pay for being “sedentary”.

In all a big thanks to the Wightlink Staff that put passengers first!

A manager who is probably paid a huge salary and treats his staff as cheap labour. This top down, dictatorial style of management is a typical example of private sector greed and bullying endemic within our society..

Exactly. Now we see the violence inherent in the system. Help help – I’m being repressed!

Shades of the early 20th century returning.

Wives of the Titanic’s lost crew receiving their husbands last pay packet discovered pay had been witheld from the moment the ship sank.

Shop assistants who are conned with a forged note have it deducted from their pay.

Care assistants using their own cars to visit old people given a small flat rate car allowance not an amount per mile.

Ferry staff considered to be sedentary and having their pay affected.

Nothing like good old fashioned Edwardian values eh? This is what made Britain great.
