Witness Appeal After Collision At Chessell

Police TapePolice are appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision was reported on the B3399 Newport Road at Chessell on the Isle of Wight.

A blue Ford Fiesta, driven by a 22-year-old man from the island, was travelling towards Newport behind a Peugeot 106, which was being driven by a 25-year-old island woman.

A silver Mercedes sprinter van, driven by a 57-year-old man, was leaving the junction with Brook Road and turning left towards Freshwater.

Collision caused car to roll-over
A collision took place between the Ford Fiesta and Mercedes van at around 8.20am this morning (Thursday, September 29). The Fiesta then rolled over several times on the road.

The drivers received injuries that were not life threatening.

Police are appealing for more witnesses who saw what happened or the blue Ford Fiesta being driven on the B3399 Newport Road shortly before the collision between 8.15am and 8.20am this morning (Thursday).
