Vectis Motocross Club Championship Report: Second Round

Thanks to Andy for the latest from the Vectis Motocross Club Championship. Ed

Lloyd NightingaleThe second round of the Vectis Motocross Club Championship (see round one), last Sunday, was a day packed with action. Much of it keeping the support staff very busy!

A strong crosswind at Corve Farm made the exposed, hilltop jumps extra challenging throughout the day.

Lloyd Nightingale Show … almost
This round threatened to be another ‘Lloyd Nightingale Show’ (pictured above) in the Open Class, just like the first round, with the KTM rider winning the first two heats.

Scott Webb, battling against him all day, did his best and took the last race from Lloyd. Just behind these two were Will Reynolds and Dave Wayman battling fiercely for the next places.

The MX1 race saw Scott Webb beating fellow Suzuki rider Will Reynolds, just ahead of Greg Tosdevin.

In the MX2 race once again Lloyd Nightingale led the way, followed in by the youngsters, Mitch Young and Perry Barnett.

Day-long, hard-fought battles
The first 85cc heat saw Dan Hazlewood making a great start and taking the win. The following three heats saw the day-long, hard fought battles between Dan and Josh Corbett (pictured below) ending in victory for Josh, with Ben Mosdell comfortably taking third in every heat.

Jordan Woodward took the overall victory in the days 65cc heats, just ahead of Jay Bell.

This result doesn’t show how varied each heats results were though, with some great racing from our youngest racers.

Fencing experts on hand
Unfortunately, during the days racing both the fencing and a few of the riders required attention from either the ever-present volunteer fencing experts or the much appreciated paramedic teams.

Our thanks to all of them and our best wishes to those injured – hoping to see you back on your bikes, racing, very soon. The youngsters taking tumbles, including Joseph Roberts in the 85cc class, seemed to fare better than the more elderly club members taking to the ground, such as Paul Brading!
